Doug Meyer Legacy: Carry On!
About Doug Meyer
On August 8, at the age of 10, Doug’s life took on a new journey. One that now included the use of a prosthetic limb. And, one that now included another holiday, “Leg Day”!
Each year on August 8, Doug and his close friends would play a round of golf and celebrate “Leg Day” as the day that Doug was saved. Doug truly embraced this challenge with a smile on his face. From endless rounds of golf to competitive tennis matches, Doug laughed at the challenge.
It was during these golf outings that Doug had spoken about his mission of helping children who were in a similar, difficult situation. Those in need of a prosthetic. He wanted to be able to help a child gain access to a prosthetic limb and inspire each one to carry on.
Unfortunately, Doug wouldn’t be able to carry out this mission. Therefore, we will carry on for him. It is Doug’s Legacy, but it is now our mission to help that child and tell Doug’s story.
Beginning this year (2022), August 8th is officially known as “Doug’s Legacy” on the Lebanon Country Club Golf Calendar @ Lebanon Country Club: Pennsylvania Golf.
We will be holding an annual golf tournament and dinner in which all proceeds will benefit a child in need of a prosthetic. With your help and support, together we can carry on.
